About Us

In addition to a spacious and comfortable learning environment, all the classrooms at the new division were equipped with air conditioners and new computer labs, with an eye to maximizing learning effectiveness. In order to save students time spent on traffic, the Division was later relocated to 4F. and 5F., No.436, Chenggong 1st Road, Cianjin District, Kaohsiung City, and the relocated division had two computer labs, two conference rooms (accommodating up to 50 and 40 persons, respectively), and four classrooms (accommodating 60 persons each) to offer a wide variety of courses and training programs.

In 1999, the Division was again relocated to 7F. and 9F., No.21, Wufu 3rd Road, Cianjin District, Kaohsiung City, and the re-relocated division had three computer labs, two multimedia classrooms (accommodating up to 62 and 40 persons, respectively), three classrooms (accommodating 54 persons each), and one classroom for up to 40 persons, in order to offer more courses and training programs.

History

Established by Kaohsiung Polytechnic Institute, the predecessor of I-Shou University, in 1992 as per the Charter of I-Shou University, the Extension Education Center has one director and administrative personnel to formulate policies and carry out tasks in extension education of the University.

Mission Statement

Echoing the motto of Mr. I-Shou Lin, the founder of the University, “Serving the Community, Giving back to the Society, and Enhancing the Quality of Local Human Resources,” the University offers courses and training programs at the university or institute level to the general public, in addition to regular degree programs.

Establishment of Downtown Division After Its Establishment in 1992

The Center ran an office on ISU campus to serve local residents in Kaohsiung and Pingtung areas. In 1994, the Center set up the Downtown Division to expand its service.
